- [ Problems with crappy Zoom modems ]
-
- : The only option is to bite the bullet and buy another brand.....any
- : suggestions?
-
- I've been through similar problems (although about a year ago, with Zoom's
- vFC products). I ran a BBS and tried to use Zooms on it - bad move! In total
- I tried 7 units (4 internals and 3 externals - I had 4 lines) and they just
- wouldn't work reliably.
-
- I tossed them and bought USR modems - three Sportsters and one Courier. 95% of
- the problems disappeared instantly, and I've been happy ever since.
-
- : BTW, when I explained all this to Zoom tech support, the rep praised the PPI
- : modems while he was trying to figure out the problem with my V.34X!!
-
- Zoom is strange, in many ways. So are their products.
-
- Daniel.
